When it comes to air travel, there are certain items that are not allowed on board. These items, known as prohibited items, include sporting goods, kitchen utensils, tools, and other objects with sharp edges or tips that could cause injury.
Examples of prohibited itemsinclude box cutters, crampons, darts, drills, ice axes and ice picks, ice skates, knives or similar to knives (made of metal or not), and leather working knives. A full list of prohibited items can be found on the Department of the Interior's TravelSecure website. To ensure a safe trip, it is imperative to check with your airline if you are unsure if an item is prohibited.
If it is prohibited, it should be packed in your checked baggage or left at home.
